Paranormal Activity is one of the most profitable films of all time, with them only spending $15,000 on the first film, it made back in the box office, $193.4 million.
Oren Peli is the writer, director and producer of Paranormal Activity, he took his $15,000 and finished the film in a week during 2006 with a handheld video camera, several San Diego friends and a cast of soon to be famous actors.
A lot of scenes were filmed during the shoot, with a lot of them not making the final cut, but they also shot a handful of different endings, including The Cop, The Throat & The Camera, Micah Sloat, one of the lead roles in the film said this: “There were a lot of different endings that were shot, we could probably do a chose-your-own adventure DVD of the entire movie, we have so many separate story threads didn’t make the final cut of the movie for whatever reason.”
